米国のオーガニックスーパー
今回アメリカで滞在した友達の家はサンフランシスコの近く、パロアルトで、近所にあるオーガニックのスーパーに家族の食事の準備のためのお買い物に、友達としばしば行きました。
アメリカでは大々的にオーガニックの無農薬野菜から果実、穀物にいたるまで流行し始めて、ホールフーズだとか、トレイダージョーだとか、大規模スパーが出来ました。チキンもお肉もオーガニックのがあります。もちろん卵も。魚はさすが。
でも「野生の鮭」とかいって、貴重なような口調でした。普通に生産されたものもおいています。明確な記名があり、オーガニックのものより１割は安いです。こんなスーパーがなかなか人気があり、いつも混んでんでいました。オーガニックフードで少しは痩せるのかな～と肥満の人たちを見ながら思いました。食べるものと健康の関係を大衆が注意しだしました。企業がそれに拍車をかけているようです。
